π Getting Started
What is VelocityDate?
VelocityDate is an online speed dating platform where you attend structured events and meet 8β12 potential matches through 3β5 minute video conversations. After each event, mutual "likes" become matches you can chat with.
How do I create an account?
Click "Join Free" on the homepage. Sign up with your email, add basic profile info (name, age, city), and you're ready to browse events. Adding photos and interests helps you get more matches.
Is VelocityDate free?
Yes! Creating an account and joining free events is completely free. Premium subscriptions are available for members who want priority access, unlimited events, and profile boosts.
What devices are supported?
VelocityDate works on any device with a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). We also have iOS and Android apps. A working camera and microphone are required for events.
π Events
How long is a speed dating event?
Most events last 60β90 minutes total. Each one-on-one video date lasts 3β5 minutes. You typically meet 8β12 people per event with brief breaks between sessions.
What types of events are available?
We have events for all groups: General, Young Professionals, LGBTQ+, Seniors (55+), Young Adults (21-30), International, Nerds & Geeks, and Spiritual daters. New categories are added regularly.
How do I register for an event?
Browse events at /events, find one you like, and click "Reserve Your Spot". Free events require account creation. Paid events require payment via card or PayPal.
Can I cancel my registration?
Yes. You can cancel up to 24 hours before the event for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable but you may attend a future event as a courtesy.
What if no one signs up for my event?
We require a minimum number of participants for events to proceed. If an event is cancelled due to low registration, you'll receive a full refund and notification at least 12 hours before.
β€οΈ Matching & Chat
How does matching work?
During and after each event, you privately mark each person as "Like" or "Pass". When both of you chose "Like", it's a mutual match. You'll be notified and can start chatting immediately.
Can the person I rated see my rating before results?
No. All ratings are completely private until results are revealed at the end of the event. No one can see you liked or passed on them until both ratings are in.
How long do matches last?
Matches and conversations never expire. Once you match, your connection and chat history remain until one of you deletes the conversation.
Can I message someone I didn't match with?
No. To protect privacy and prevent harassment, messaging is only available between mutual matches.

How do you verify profiles?
All new profiles go through our moderation review within 24 hours. We check for fake photos, suspicious patterns, and inappropriate content. Real-time moderation is present at all events.
What personal info is shown during events?
Only your first name and age are shown to other participants during events. Your email, last name, and contact details are never shared.
How do I report someone?
Click the report button on any profile or during any event. Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours. For urgent issues during events, there's a live host you can contact.
Can I block someone?
Yes. You can block any user from their profile page. Blocked users cannot see your profile, contact you, or be matched with you at future events.
π³ Billing & Subscriptions
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Dashboard β Settings β Danger Zone β Cancel Subscription. Your subscription stays active until the end of the billing period, then cancels automatically.
Do you offer refunds?
Subscriptions come with a 7-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers. Individual event tickets are refundable 24+ hours before the event.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. We use Stripe for payment processing - a PCI DSS Level 1 certified provider. We never store your full card number or CVV.
