Profile Information: Display name, bio, photos, interests, and preferences you optionally add to your profile.
Event Data: Registration details, attendance records, and match decisions (like/pass) made during events.
Communications: Messages sent through our chat system to your matches.
Payment Information: For paid events or subscriptions, we collect billing information. Full card numbers are processed and stored by our payment processor (Stripe) β’ we only receive tokenized payment identifiers.
Device & Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, referring URLs, and how you interact with our platform (pages viewed, features used, time spent).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
β’ Provide, maintain, and improve the VelocityDate platform and services
β’ Create and manage your account, match you with other users, and facilitate events
β’ Process payments and send transactional communications (receipts, confirmations)
β’ Send you notifications about matches, messages, and events you're registered for
β’ Send marketing communications (with your consent, and you can opt out anytime)
β’ Monitor and enforce our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal data to third parties for advertising purposes.
3. Information Sharing & Disclosure
With Other Users: During events, only your first name and age are visible to other participants. Your profile information (photos, bio, interests) is visible to other logged-in users browsing the platform. Your email, last name, and contact details are never shared.
With Matches: When you mutually match with someone, their display name and profile become visible in your matches, and you can exchange messages.
Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate (e.g., Stripe for payments, AWS for hosting, SendGrid for emails). These vendors are contractually bound to protect your data.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of VelocityDate and its users.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred. We will notify you of any such change.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:

β’ Match and chat data: Retained until you delete conversations or your account
β’ Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by tax and accounting laws
β’ Safety reports: Retained for 5 years to prevent repeat offenders
β’ Log data: Retained for up to 90 days
When you delete your account, we anonymize or delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain it for legal compliance.
